Grad Students
Grad Students are one of the three types of people who can access the TA Matching web site.
Any person in the Grad Student List can take the TA Preferences survey.
Clicking the Grad Students link in the People sub-section of the Admin area will show the current Grad Student List. The Add Grad Student Manually link is used to add new Grad Students by UCInetID. The Import Grad Student Data from from the Registrar link will import most of the Grad Students for the current quarter, for the associated school, into the Grad Student list. The Filter Grad Student UCInetIDs link is used to create a list of UCInetIDs not in the current Grad Student List.
Add Grad Student Manually
Any person with a valid UCInetID can be added as a Grad Student. The steps to add a new Grad Student are listed here:
- Enter a valid UCInetID
- Edit the First, Middle, and Last Name (optional)
- Edit the Student ID (If no Student ID is found one must be entered)
- Select a Degree Code
- click the Add Grad Student button to add them to the Grad Student List
Import Grad Student Data from from the Registrar
The Import Grad Student Data from from the Registrar link displays a page with an Import button. Clicking the Import button will get any currently active Grad Student from the registrar data and Add them to the Grad Student List. Any Grad Students already in the Grad Student List will not be imported again. The import may be run multiple times as the new quarter nears and more students are marked as Active
Note: Active Grad Students may not include all Grad Students for the coming quarter, some may need to be added manually.
Filter Grad Student UCInetIDs
A comma separated list of UCInetIDs can be submitted using the Filter Grad Student UCInetIDs link, to generate a list of UCInetIDs not found in the Grad Student List.
When you click the Filter button all the UCInetIDs in the comma separated list pasted into the text area will be checked. First they will be verified as a valid UCInetID. Then they will be compared against UCInetIDs in the Grad Student List. Any UCInetIDs not in the Grad Student List will remain in the text area. Invalid UCInetIDs will be removed and a warning will be displayed.
This feature is useful to compare a list of UCInetIDs with the current Grad Student List.
