ICS Keys Management System | Administrator Documentation

Manage KeyAuths

Users with administration privileges are called KeyAuths. There are two ways to access the KeyAuth Management section. The first is to select DB Maintenance from the main menu, then Default Key Authorizors from the sub-menu. The second is to select Admin from the main menu, then Keyauth from the sub-menu. Either way will load the Manage Key Auths page.

There are several tasks available on the Manage Key Auths page:

List KeyAuths

By default a list of all current KeyAuths is shown on the main Manage Key Auths page. KeyAuths are shown ten at a time. This number may be adjusted to the bottom left of the list. KayAuths may be filtered using the boxes below the list by entering all or part of a User Type, UCInetID, or Name.

Note: Division should be set to only show KeyAuths of the same division as the logged in user. If KeyAuths from another division are shown, please contact computing services (sscs@uci.edu). To see a complete list of KeyAuths from all divisions, click the List KeyAuths link on the right hand side of the page.

Create KeyAuth

To create a new KeyAuth click the Create KeyAuth link on the right side of the Manage Key Auths page. This will display a form to enter the following data for the new KayAuth:

  • Division - This is limited to the same division as the currently logged in user.
  • Type - This is the type of user (Faculty, Staff, etc…)
  • UCInetID - This is the UCInetID of the new KeyAuth
  • Name - This name will be displayed in the KeyAuth section of the application (it may be different from the name associated with the UCInetID by central campus.)

Once all fields are filled out, click the Create button to add the Keyauth. A summary of the added KeyAuth will be shown after it has been successfully added.

After a new KeyAuth is added, the Manage KeyAuth link on the right hand side of the page will display the main KeyAuth Management Page again.

Delete KeyAuth

To delete a KeyAuth simply select the Delete link in the Options column on the right hand side of the KeyAuths list.
