Print to Canon Copier from Windows PC
1. Run the VPN client and connect to either the UCI or UCIfull (Optional)
Download and install the VPN Client
This step is optional, depending on how you connect to the campus network. Some connections are blocked from printing, so if you are unable to reach the printer, please try the VPN. Notably, off-campus and WiFi connections are blocked and require the VPN.
2. Install Print Driver
- Download the recommended printer driver here: here
- Run the downloaded file and then the setup file in the extracted folder
- At the Printer Setup screen, choose Custom
- Continue through the installer with the default options. Then at the Printer Information screen, choose Add Port…
- Then select Standard TCP/IP Port
- A pop up for port setup will come up, type in the Canon copier's IP address. Check here for the IP address of the copier you want to print to.
- Back on Printer Information, choose a meaningful name for the copier e.g. Canon Copier CogSci SBSG 2545.
- Complete setup and enter copy code (see below)
3. Enter Copy Code
- Open Settings → Printers & scanners, find the copier you just added, click on it and choose Manage
- Click on Printer properties
- Go to the Device Settings tab
- Uncheck the box for Set User Information. Make sure that Department ID Management is selected.
- Click on the Settings button under Department ID Management.
- In the Department ID field, type in your copy code
- Press OK on this dialog and the previous ones and close the Settings window. Send a test print!
