Search for a specific key or person

There are several options to find information about the keys or the people in the ICS Key Management System. The main method to get information is the Key Box. This page describes the Key Box, as well as some alternate options to look up information about keys and people.

The Key Box can be accessed in two different ways. One shows the inventory and the other shows an Administrative view. The Inventory View is the main way to find information about keys. It shows a list of keys by Key Number, Description, Tag, Quantity, Rooms, and Division. Only the Division of the logged in user will be shown.

Note: To access the Inventory View of the Key Box, Click The 'KeyBox' entry under the 'Functions' Menu

There are filter boxes under the list of Keys. The filter boxes are used to narrow down the list.

Clicking on the Pencil Icon will display the Key Box entry for that Key Number.

Clicking on the 'Keys' link in the options column will display a list of all the serial numbers associated with the selected Key number. The status in the list will show if the key is in the key box or assigned to a person.

To list the keys assigned to a person, follow the steps below:

• Select 'List Keys For a Person' from the 'Functions' menu
• Enter the UCInetID of the person in the search box
• Click the 'Search' button

To Find a key by serial number, follow the steps below:

• Select 'Find Keys by Serial' from the 'Functions' menu
• Enter the Serial number in the search box
• Click the 'Search' button
